Mandalas originated in Hindu and Buddhist religious works and generally consisted of a circle with a center point inside a square with 4 gates. Over the years the term "mandala" has become less specific, and has begun to include many different styles of layered designs.

Valerie is a self-taught vector artist who works primarily in Flash and PhotoShop. Her work tends towards the abstract and features patterns and design elements such as Celtic weaves, mehndi based designs, and geometric shapes. She has been creating patterned art for years, though only began selling her work in 2007.
